So yesterday Barb and I met at our club to train. Seeker was very enthusiastic as we did short heeling patterns, short fun recalls, sits and downs, and recalls on a flexi. She is so ready to learn new things and I am so ready to accommodate her! After we finished training, and just to be safe, I switched to her conformation collar and lead, and we had Barb run us through a pattern. She immediately switched to "conformation mode" with no problems. Barb commented that she seems to "float" around the ring. That is exactly the term Linda uses for Braego's movement.
Next training session: Gail's barn for basic agility on Friday. I'll work with Seeker over low obstacles and I am going to start working with a Terv named Gamer whose owner cannot move for agility and conformation. We are going to see if he will work for me. If he does, I'll show him in conformation for her (and maybe agility) in exchange for tracking lessons.
